LAST UPDATED: APRIL 2026  ·  SOLAR SURVEYS LTD  ·  REGISTERED IN SCOTLAND

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Solar Surveys Ltd website at solarsurveys.co.uk and the engineering services we provide. By accessing this website or commissioning any of our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Solar Surveys Ltd is a structural engineering firm registered in Scotland. References to "we", "us" or "our" refer to Solar Surveys Ltd. References to "you" or "client" refer to the individual or organisation commissioning our services or using this website.

2. Our Services

Solar Surveys Ltd provides pre-construction engineering services for commercial solar PV installations, including:

  • On-site structural surveys and structural assessments
  • Drone-assisted roof condition assessments
  • Desktop Structural Roof Loading Reports
  • Electrical pre-construction surveys
  • Solar PV design and CAD layout services
  • Planning permission support and documentation

Each engagement is governed by a specific service agreement or written instruction confirmed between Solar Surveys Ltd and the client. These Terms of Service apply in addition to any such project-specific terms.

3. Service Instructions and Commissioning

A service instruction is deemed accepted when Solar Surveys Ltd issues written confirmation of the instruction. Verbal instructions are not binding until confirmed in writing by Solar Surveys Ltd.

The client is responsible for providing accurate site information, access arrangements, and any relevant existing documentation prior to a survey or report being carried out. Solar Surveys Ltd accepts no liability for errors arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client.

4. Deliverables and Report Use

Reports, drawings and assessments produced by Solar Surveys Ltd are prepared for the specific purpose and client stated in the instruction. Use of any deliverable for a purpose other than that stated, or by a party other than the intended recipient, is not permitted without prior written consent from Solar Surveys Ltd.

All structural reports are signed by a qualified structural engineer and reflect conditions observed at the time of the survey. They do not constitute a warranty against future structural changes or events.

Desktop Structural Roof Loading Reports are produced using information and documentation provided by the client and publicly available data. They represent an engineering assessment based on that information and are not a substitute for an on-site structural survey where one is required.

5. Intellectual Property

All reports, drawings, calculations and other deliverables produced by Solar Surveys Ltd remain the intellectual property of Solar Surveys Ltd until full payment has been received. Upon receipt of payment, the client is granted a non-exclusive licence to use the deliverables for the stated project purpose.

All content on this website, including text, imagery, graphics and code, is the property of Solar Surveys Ltd and may not be reproduced without written permission.

6. Payment Terms

Invoices are due for payment within 30 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. Solar Surveys Ltd reserves the right to charge statutory interest on late payments in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

Solar Surveys Ltd reserves the right to withhold delivery of reports and drawings until outstanding invoices are paid in full.

7. Liability

Solar Surveys Ltd carries professional indemnity insurance. Our liability to any client in connection with a specific instruction is limited to the fee paid for that instruction, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

We accept no liability for loss or damage arising from: use of a report for a purpose other than that stated; reliance on information provided by third parties; events or changes occurring after the date of survey; or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Cancellation

Where a client cancels a commissioned instruction after work has commenced, Solar Surveys Ltd reserves the right to invoice for work completed to the point of cancellation at our standard day rate. Cancellations must be made in writing.

9. Website Use

This website is provided for information purposes. While we take care to keep content accurate and current, we make no warranties regarding the completeness or accuracy of information on this website. Use of this website is at your own risk.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of this website at any time without notice.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
