MCS Certification

Microgeneration Certification Scheme: a quality assurance framework for small-scale renewable energy technology and installation, required for UK government incentive schemes and export tariff eligibility.

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) certification is required for solar PV installers and products to participate in UK government incentive schemes and to issue documentation required by lenders, DNOs, and export tariff administrators. Certified installations must meet all requirements of the relevant MIS standards, including MIS 3002 V6.0 for solar PV.

For commercial solar PV clients, MCS-certified installations provide assurance that the system has been designed, installed, and documented to a defined standard. Structural sign-off from Solar Surveys is accepted by MCS certification bodies as evidence of structural adequacy, forming part of the documentation package required for MCS certificate issuance.
