THE ENGINEERING CERTAINTY STANDARD
Pre-construction is where programmes fail.
We are the engineering practice built to prevent that.
Every solar installation starts with a structural question: can this roof carry the load? An incorrect assessment stalls programmes, triggers lender revision cycles, and at installation stage becomes a structural liability. We produce engineer-reviewed, Eurocode-verified, Building Regulations compliant assessments signed by a named professional. Correct the first time.
Reports are formatted to the standard commercial lenders, DNOs and MCS certification bodies require. First-submission acceptance is the aim. That is the Engineering Certainty standard, used by clients running 10-site assessments, 50-site programmes and 200-site portfolios alike.
Sector guides: logistics warehouses, retail estate, manufacturing and industrial, public sector, data centres. Roof typology: asbestos cement, trapezoidal metal, standing seam, built-up felt, single-ply membrane, clay tile and pitched.
OUR STORY
Built for Commercial Solar.
From the Ground Up.
Solar Surveys Ltd was founded by structural engineers who spent years working within the commercial solar sector and kept encountering the same problem: pre-construction engineering was consistently the bottleneck that stalled pipelines, delayed installations and eroded margins.
General structural engineering practices approached solar pre-construction as a side service. Reports took weeks. Formats were inconsistent. Volume requests were turned away or deprioritised. The commercial solar sector had grown into a high-volume, fast-moving industry: but the engineering services supporting it had not kept pace.
We built Solar Surveys Ltd to close that gap. A specialist practice, staffed by engineers with deep solar sector experience, built around workflows designed for volume and speed: without sacrificing the engineering rigour that every structural assessment requires.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
Specialist. Scalable.
Accountable.
Solar-Only Specialism
We do not serve general building surveys, residential projects or non-solar instructions. Every engineer in the practice has solar PV pre-construction experience. The specialism produces better outputs, faster.
Volume Without Backlog
Our workflows are designed for high-volume programmes. Capacity for 2,000+ Desktop Structural Roof Loading Reports per month at a maintained 48-hour delivery benchmark. On-site survey capacity with rapid mobilisation across the UK and Europe.
Named Engineer on Every Report
Every report: desktop, on-site, drone: carries the sign-off of the qualified structural engineer who produced it. Not an automated output. Not a junior assessor. A named professional engineer. The Solar Surveys engineering team is led by Sahir Ghani Raihan and Hashir Ghani Raihan.
Full Pre-Construction Scope
Structural surveys, Desktop Structural Roof Loading Reports, drone assessments, solar design, electrical surveys and planning support: all in-house. One firm, one point of accountability, from initial structural assessment to installation clearance.
48-Hour Delivery Benchmark
The 48-hour delivery benchmark is our volume standard. While larger programmes are scale-managed, we maintain high velocity across every batch of instructions, ensuring your pre-construction timeline remains unblocked.
Lender & DNO Accepted
Our structural reports are produced to the standard required by commercial lenders, DNOs and planning authorities. First-time acceptance: not a revision cycle.
CLIENT FEEDBACK
What Clients Report.
Client identities and project specifics are withheld under NDA. Testimonials are presented in anonymous-authoritative format.
"We run large pre-construction programmes across multiple regions. Solar Surveys handle our entire structural assessment pipeline: Desktop Structural Roof Loading Reports and on-site surveys. The 48-hour benchmark holds at volume. Reports are accepted by our lender technical panel without revision requests. That consistency is what a programme of this scale requires."
"Portfolio-level structural assessments require consistency: same format, same engineering standard, every site. Solar Surveys deliver that regardless of batch size. Their Desktop Structural Roof Loading Reports are the only ones our lenders accept without a follow-up query. For a PPA portfolio operating on institutional finance, that removes a significant source of programme delay."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions About Solar Surveys.
What does Solar Surveys specialise in?
Solar Surveys specialises exclusively in pre-construction and post-construction technical services for commercial solar PV. This includes structural surveys, Desktop Structural Roof Loading Reports, drone roof condition assessments, solar electrical surveys, G99 grid connection applications, solar design and planning permission support. All services are delivered by in-house engineers: no subcontracting.
Where is Solar Surveys based and what area do you cover?
Our structural engineers are based throughout the UK, allowing us to minimise travel time and mobilise quickly to any site in England, Scotland and Wales. We also cover European markets for clients with cross-border solar portfolios. Desktop Structural Roof Loading Reports are produced remotely and are available for any UK or European site regardless of location.
What qualifications and insurance does Solar Surveys hold?
All structural engineering work is led by Engineering Principals with 20+ years of relevant experience and is covered by £5M professional indemnity insurance. Drone operations are carried out under BDF and BMFA accreditation with £25M public liability insurance.
