Drone and Survey

UAV Survey

An aerial inspection or data collection exercise conducted using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV or drone), used in solar PV to assess roof condition, array performance, and site topography.

UAV surveys are a standard pre-construction and operational tool for commercial solar PV projects. Pre-construction drone surveys assess roof condition from above, identifying membrane defects, drainage issues, structural damage, and access constraints that would be difficult or unsafe to observe from ground level. Post-installation, thermal imaging UAV surveys identify underperforming panels and electrical faults.

Solar Surveys UAV operators hold BDF (British Drone Flyers) and BMFA (British Model Flying Association) accreditation and carry £25M drone liability insurance. All drone operations comply with CAA regulations and the Air Navigation Order, including appropriate airspace checks and risk assessments for each site.
